Book Review of The Untold Tales: Love and other Demons

Image
My take on The Untold Tales by Author Paras You think your pain and your heartbreak are unprecedented in the history of the world, but then you read. It was books that taught me that the things that tormented me most were the very things that connected me with all the people who were alive, who had ever been alive. My desire of reading instigates me often to read because I find solace in that. So this time, I came across Love and Other Demons: The Untold Tales, written by Paras. The name itself lured me to explore it. I was inquisitive to know as to how Love could be associated to something demonic? And let me just tell you, I was flabbergasted. The author has so minutely pelted out words and phrases, etched the same into stories that connect very much to our own lives. In one story author talks about love, in the other separation. One talks about the mere grief of losing a love one while the other says about stormy relationships between friends. A compilation of 13 stories, Paras'

Book Review of Vitamin H (Volume 2)

Image
My take on the second edition of Vitamin H: I like reading quotes especially some unconventional, original and inspirational ones.  Vitamin H, by Abhishek Thakkar is full of some of the most thought-provoking quotes ever. He has written some very simple, short, yet so deep and inspiring. These quotes help to transform the way you think through daily doses of truth and positivity. Also, they are extremely easy to read and comprehend. As a student, I sometimes doubt my ability throughout the trying times of the academic year. However, reading this book has been a beneficial way to gain back the self-belief. What a fantastic little book. I read one quote a day and it is the perfect way to get in the mindset for the day ahead. If you enjoy reading quotes or want to be inspired, then I highly recommend purchasing the "Vitamin H." You won't be disappointed! The book would also make a great birthday or Christmas gift for an avid reader or someone who loves quotes. 5/5 stars fo

Review of Mythological Monologues: 26 Dramatic Monologues of Epic Characters from Ramayana and Mahabharata by Purba Chakraborty

Image
‘Mythological Monologues’, I am glad that this book made it to my recommended books to-read list, and I was instantly attracted by the title and the cover of the book and hit the purchase button with anticipation. In an Indian household we constantly find the mention of Ramayana or Mahabharata, and the life lessons they teach us. If you have grandparents living with you, then the importance of these epics increases manifold. These epics can be compared to modern time’s encyclopedias, albeit they provide knowledge on life and its journey as a whole. There are so many characters in these two epics that sometimes keeping a tab on them becomes difficult, but each character has a role to play and a lesson to impart. We get so tangled in reading the scriptures that we never in fact view the characters separately, as entities with feelings and emotions of their own. The USP of the book is the way Miss Purba Chakraborty has put her imagination at work and allowed the characters to be viewed as

Book Review of Vitamin H

Image
Book Review of Vitamin H Books are our best friends, especially during this quarantine period. Being an avid reader I keep searching for new books to delve into. While continuing my search I chanced upon a book by Mr. Abhishek Thakkar, named Vitamin H. Intriguing as the name sounded, I immediately placed my order.  What I received was a book consisting of 111 beautifully written quotes that could fill you up with positivity and hope, something that we definitely need during these times. This book is a place where the past, present, and future intermingle through the words of the author. The quotes not only inspire but tend to put a smile on your face when the lines echo your sentiments. The ruminations in the book are proof of the author’s mature outlook. Sometimes during the perusal of the book, I’d find myself nodding at the ideas since they were in sync with my musings. Life is a string of experience and people should constantly learn from it, but being human it’s only
